It’s rare to come across a band whose profile has risen so rapidly, and whose fan base has grown so exponentially in such a short time, but there are few acts out there who have what Sex Mask are offering.
A post-punk trio comprising Vicente Moncada on drums/production, Wry Gray on vocals and lyrics, and Kaya Martin on guitars and synths, Sex Mask made their auspicious debut just a few short years ago.
Armed with a frenetic and volatile approach to their craft, and harnessing a blistering sense of energy that leaves even the most diehard moshers breathless, Sex Mask’s relentless blend of indie, punk, and electronic music has seen them generate a strong following both at home and abroad.
With a string of singles giving way to their 2025 EP Boy Broker, the trio gained acclaim for their exhilarating and immediate blend of early ’80s industrial, no-wave, and absurdist punk influences. Soon, they were being called one of the names to watch by a number of international publications, such as Rolling Stone, Clash, Line Of Best Fit, Guardian, Complex, Dork, and NME, who listed them as a spotlight artist for their Radar section.
Before long, their gripping love show led to supports for acts such as Fcukers, Big Special, Radio Free Alice, Fat Dog, Sleaford Mods, as well as appearing at festivals such as Beyond The Valley, Lost Paradise, Rhythm & Vines, Dot To Dot, Stag & Dagger, Gold Sounds, Pitchfork Paris, Pitchfork London, Yours & Owls, and more.
Their exhaustive touring run has included a packed-out EU/UK co-headline tour playing some of their biggest crowds to date, including slots at the End Of The Road Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, Manchester Psych Festival, and many more.

Their exhaustive touring run has included a packed-out EU/UK co-headline tour playing some of their biggest crowds to date, including slots at the End Of The Road Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, Manchester Psych Festival, and many more.
In August, Sex Mask revealed their latest offering, a five-track self-titled EP which captures their creative efforts at their best and most immediate. Preceded by lead single ‘Raid’ (paired by two remixes by Japanese black metal gabber experimentalists Violent Magic Orchestra and Be-Mo, the new project from Michael Phillips of Radio Free Alice), the EP has cemented Sex Mask’s status as one of the most vital and arresting bands in Australia at the moment.
With millions of streams to their name, a never-ending appetite for mayhem, dizzying live shows, and releasing music which is as arresting as it is relentless, Sex Mask are well on the way to living up to their name as Australia’s next big export.
