A Kaurna Land/Adelaide born and based artist, effie isobel is the passion project of a girl with a Libra rising and an inclination to feel it all a little too hard.
Making her impressive debut in 2023 with ‘Lip Balm’ and following it all swiftly with 2024’s ‘Peach Heart,’ effie isobel’s quickly found fast support and acclaim from triple j Unearthed, Rolling Stone, triple j Home & Hosed, The AU Review, GRRRL Music (LA), 2SER, 4ZZZ, Three D Radio, R1 NZ, Triple R, City Mag, Sounds of Oz, The Point Music News and many others.
Harnessing inspirations spanning beabadoobee, Slow Pulp, Snail Mail, Mazzy Star, she blends candid lyricism with warm vocal tones and lush, gritty dream pop instrumentation. For her latest release – 2025’s ‘Moon Made’ – effie isobel’s sound draws upon songs from I Saw The TV Glow and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World where sweet, femme vocals meets expansive band backdrops and the blunt delivery of spoken vocals.
“Sweet and fuzzy, guitar-driven goodness for fans of beabadoobee, Alvvays and Soccer Mommy” – Rolling Stone (Best New Music)
effie isobel – ‘Moon Made’
Already receiving strong support upon the release of ‘Moon Made,’ the track is a show of confidence for the burgeoning artist, subtly incorporating effie isobel’s broader universe: lyrical references to pomegranate and Turkish delights a nod to her Greek-Australian migrant heritage.
A rising star for whom the sky is the limit, effie isobel has already taken her fast-growing profile to the masses, performing an acclaimed set at WOMADelaide in 2025, and in 2024, shared stages with illustrious names such as Teenage Joans, aleksiah, The Empty Threats, The Tullamarines, and Coldwave.
