Audiences already know Mooney from her much beloved indie-folk band All Our Exes Live In Texas. With Exes, she has become a festival favourite, touring extensively within Australia and around the world, sharing stages with everyone from the Backstreet Boys to Midnight Oil. And people will also recognise Mooney’s voice; she is an accomplished session vocalist who has appeared on tracks for artists from Passenger to Kesha to Tim Minchin. Mooney has spent her career fostering collaboration, but in 2023 the spotlight is on her as she releases her debut solo album Full of Moon. 

Her solo work is a stylistic departure, a lush and layered art-folk-pop album with production by LA-based, Grammy Award-winner Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Cate Le Bon, Marlon Williams). Recorded over 18 months across 2021-2022 as the world walled off into isolation, Mooney and Georgeson turned the situation to their advantage, recruiting their dream lineup of musicians from around the globe, players whose talents have adorned recordings by artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Laura Marling, Adele, Sia, Bon Iver, and Rufus Wainwright.

As deft and charismatic a speaker as a musician, Mooney’s entertainment career extends beyond songwriting. She co-hosts the popular podcast Simply Marvellous with comedians Rhys Nicholson & Kyran Wheatley, and has been called on as host of multiple award shows (including the APRAs) and guest host on Double J radio.
